John Asogonnde is the founder of Eden Bar, Ghana’s first non-alcoholic nightlife experience, and a trailblazer in the mindful drinking movement in West Africa. A former winner of the World Alcohol-Free Awards' Uplift Award, John is dedicated to proving that celebration and sophisticated taste do not require alcohol.

During judging he's most looking forward to tasting the No-Alcohol Sparkling Wine category. ;The African market is desperate for high-quality alternatives in this space,' he says, 'and I'm keen to see the new innovations coming through.'

John is seven years sober and has authored two books detailing his journey to breaking free from alcohol and marijuana addiction, something which continues to inform his mission to create safe social alternatives.
