Is Degré Zéro 2025 non-alc's break-out event?
17 February 2025

Paris in February is no-one's idea of fun: cold, grey and damp, you need a good reason to visit. And this year we got one.

Degré Zéro is a tasting dedicated entirely to alcohol-free drinks. It started last year in a fairly small way, but the organisers took the plunge for 2025 and moved to a bigger venue not far from Montparnasse in the hope of increased turnout. It was a decision that was spectacularly rewarded.

From 35 exhibitors last year to 70 in 2025, and with over 1000 visitors, it was, we'd guess, the biggest dedicated alcohol-free exhibition in the world.

Most of the exhibitors were French (and wine), but there were beers, spirits, kombuchas and hybrid products as well. And with plenty of people in town for Wine Paris - which started the next day - there were a good number of visitors from around the world too. In fact, we clocked four WAFA judges among the audience.

People were serious. They were asking questions, tasting intelligently and doing business. They wanted to learn, and they wanted to buy.

But perhaps the most noticeable element of the whole event was the sheer energy. There was a real buzz, an excitement. Alc-free is a part of the drinks world that is alive with opportunity at the moment, and everybody at Degré Zéro knew it. Having an event that was 100% alcohol-free, rather than an add-on to a bigger drinks show meant that non-alc could take centre stage for once. It made for a special atmosphere - a trade collectively looking around and saying 'hell yes, we can do this'.

Next year's date for Degré Zéro has already been chosen - February 8th 2026. It's already in our diary. We hope to see you there!
